The work of the Church & Society Committee promotes outreach locally as a Community of Neighbors building relationships, and recruiting volunteers to recognize and serve needs in our community. We also are proud to host Break Bread – a free community meal program serving hungry neighbors, believing every situation is beloved, and serving in the loving spirit of Christ. Volunteers are needed – please reach out if you are interested in serving your community! Gifts for Cherrelyn Hard to believe, however Church and Society is beginning their annual campaign to put together 50 overflowing Christmas gift bags for residents of our local Cherrelyn Care Center. Starting November 23rd we will have a table in Fellowship Hall where you may make your donation (suggested at $25 per resident). We will do the gift shopping for you. Thank you so much for your generosity. Collections for HAAT Force Our Church & Society Committee is sponsoring a food and clothing drive for HAAT Force! HAAT Force has replaced the Severe Weather Shelter Network (SWSN) by providing motel vouchers to families, people with disabilities, pregnant women, people with pets or service animals, older adults and others who are unhoused on severe weather nights in South Metro Denver. So how can you help? By collecting the following and placing them in the church's breezeway! We Need: -Hormel Compleats -Canned chill with pop-top lids -Crackers in a sleeve -Shelf-stable milk with expiration beyond November -Underwear packs for men, women and children (all sizes).

From our different choirs and ensembles to community musicals, and extra opportunities in worship, we welcome you to join us, lift your voice, and make a joyful noise! Contact Music Ministries Chancel Choir The Chancel Choir for adults leads in worship during the 11:00 a.m. worship service each week, and in several musical worship services and concerts throughout the year. Its members share time in worship and in fellowship while preparing music for services and Fine Arts Series events. Rehearsals are Thursdays from 7:00-9:00 p.m. No audition required. Jubilation Choir The Jubilation Choir is a family of adult singers who meet together each Wednesday during the school year for fellowship fellowship and rehearsal. The group performs at selected events, luncheons and services each year. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 10:00-11:00 a.m. No audition required. Chancel Ringers The Chancel Ringers is our choir for intermediate-to-advanced adult and youth ringers, and adds a special dimension to worship services throughout the year. In addition, this group sometimes performs for weddings and community functions, and takes part in area handbell festivals. No audition required. CrossFire CrossFire, our middle and high school youth choir, leads in the 8:30 a.m. worship service each week, and in special worship services throughout the school year. The group meets after United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) on Sunday evenings from 4:30-5:30 p.m. No audition required. Rainbow Express Rainbow Express is a children's choir for grades 2-5. A vibrant part of the music program, Rainbow Express sings once a month during the 11:00 a.m. service and leads in worship on Children's Sunday each year. Children in this choir learn basic music theory, good singing habits, and all about worship. No audition required. Youth Ringers Youth Ringers is a handbell choir for ringers of all experience levels in grades 6-12. The group leads in worship throughout the year, and attends a festival each spring. Rehearsals take place on select Sundays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. No audition required. Dedicated to the adults at LUMC, our Adult Ministries offer a chance to take a deeper dive into your faith... Adult Ministries Dedicated to the adults at LUMC, our Adult Ministries offer a chance to take a deeper dive into your faith. Adult Small Groups Our adult small groups and Sunday School classes span a diverse spectrum of interests and theological perspectives. Groups meet at 9:45 am (before our second Sunday service) in various rooms throughout the church. Sunday Adult Education Opportunities: Seekers The Seekers meet each Sunday in the church Reception Hall from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Class coordinators include Sue Poet, Jean Lundy and Hank Wyeno. The curriculum includes three major areas of study which are taught by members of the class and guest speakers. Those three areas include: (1) the Bible and Topics of Theology, (2) Social Issues and (3) Personal Interests and Growth. In addition, periodic socials such as potluck dinners and BBQ’s are hosted by members of the class. All are welcome. Friends in Faith The Friends in Faith class meets in Room 204 (upstairs above the stage) from 9:45-10:45 a.m. This group includes a wide age range of couples and singles, many with older children s well as aging parents. As a more informal group, Friends in Faith shares their lives and studies what topics seem most relevant and interesting. The group has a range of perspectives from traditional to progressive, and often finds themselves questioning or rethinking some of their previous theological understandings. Friends in Faith is dedicated to learning from each other as they share the opportunity to lead and support each other through difficulties. The group also engages in different social and service activities throughout the year. All are welcome. Fantastic Fellowship/Crusaders This class is made up of older adults and meets in the Parlor every Sunday (year round) for in-depth Bible study and lively discussion. The class is led by the members and lasts from 9:45-10:45 a.m. Fantastic Fellowship also hosts social events monthly for a more personal connection outside of class. Everyone is welcome! Young Adults This new Young Adult Sunday School class meets every Sunday in the Way Station (located across the parking lot to the east) from 9:45-10:45 a.m. This group is designed to create community and good discussion with others in their 20s and 30s. Stewardship Update: Our current pledges are $565,000 from 151 pledging units. Your prayers, presence, service, and witness are the lifeblood of LUMC's work in the world; now is the time to make your financial gift commitment and ensure that work is generously supported! Please return your pledge cards via mail or dropping by the office. Young Adult Sunday School: A new Young Adult Sunday School class is meeting in the Way Station (across the parking lot to the east) between services. Community and good discussion with others in their 20s and 30s await you! Chrismon Workshop: Continuing this Sunday from 10:00-10:20 a.m. all 4th graders will gather to participate in the annual tradition of making a Chrismon to hang on the Sanctuary tree at the Hanging of the Greens service on November 30th. Coat Drive: November is Coat Drive Month! Search your closets for winter wear items you no longer use and bring them to the clothing bin in the breezeway. Men, Women and Children’s sizes are needed. Christmas Pageant Rehearsals: Sunday mornings 9:30-9:50 a.m. weekly, downstairs in the Children's Worship room for all children to learn and tell the story of Baby Jesus on December 14th between services in Grant Fellowship Hall. Terrific Tuesday: Our next Terrific Tuesday will be November 18th at 12:00 p.m. in Grant Fellowship Hall. The Jubilation Choir will entertain and lunch is provided (donations appreciated). Soul Food Sunday Friendsgiving: On November 23rd at 5:30 p.m. all youth and young adults are invited to join us for this Soul Food Sunday, where we will share a meal, break into groups for devotion and discussion, and complete a service project. Bring your friends and their families, and together we’ll fill our bellies and our souls! Thanksgiving Dinner at LUMC: Looking for a meaningful way to spend your Thanksgiving Day? Gracious volunteers are needed to help extend LUMC hospitality to all the neighborhood folk who will find their way through our doors for a holiday meal. If you can assist from about 1:45-4:30 p.m. please call the church office to RSVP. Advent Festival: On November 30th at 4:30 p.m., come celebrate the beginning of the Advent Season with dinner, crafts, caroling, cards for shut-ins, the annual paper chain, and Santa! Stay for the Hanging of the Greens service led by the Youth of LUMC at 6:00 p.m. and celebrate the addition of Chrismons from this year's 4th grade class. Handel’s Messiah: Save the date for our presentation of Handel’s Messiah on December 14th during both services! Current Class: The After Party As a Christian, are you frustrated and concerned by the political polarization we can’t seem to shake in the U.S. right now? If so, this Zoom class from Pastor Chris may be right up your alley. With the After Party, you’ll be equipped and encouraged to do the hard work of engaging across differences, reframing your political identity in light of the Gospel’s promises, and focusing your heart and mind on the “how” of relating to each other before the “what” of political opinions. We'll go through the course together so we can share in conversation and foster our own relationships through creation of a brave space. Together through our collective contributions, we will be able to continue to serve our congregation and our greater community in the loving spirit of Christ. Stewardship 2026 In Matthew’s Gospel (13:45-46), Jesus speaks of a pearl so precious that one man sells all he has to obtain it. Life with Jesus is just as precious, and just as worth it, as that pearl. This Stewardship season, we’ll show you the many reasons why your contributions of time, talent, and treasure are all WORTH IT as, together, we pursue that precious life with Jesus. How to Give With a variety of payment methods, you have the option to give weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually depending on your financial needs. Pledge cards will be sent to your home address for you to complete and return on Stewardship Sunday, October 26th! Your pledges allow us to do great work in the year ahead, and we are grateful that you are a part of our family. Did you know? Littleton United is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Learn more about the Encore Players, the drama ministry at Littleton United Methodist Church! Encore Players Formed in the 1980s, the Encore Players serves as the Drama Ministry at Littleton United Methodist Church. Led by Kelly Kates and Renee Posey, this ministry offers our members the opportunity to express in theater and music the message of our love of God, and the teachings of the United Methodist Church. We strive to bring, at no cost to the public, a variety of productions each year: some liturgical, some comedic, and some musical. Performances are typically scheduled for the Terrific Tuesday Seniors Ministry, LUMC’s Fine Arts Festival, Western Welcome Week, and a musical every other summer. Past shows include Music Man, Oliver, Godspell, Harvey, Twelve Angry Jurors, Diary of Anne Frank, Steel Magnolias, the Sound of Music, Jesus Christ Superstar , and more! Will these yahoos looking for a showdown be out-danced by Daisy? Can the mysterious Widow Astaire shed any light on the situation? And finally, who will win the pie baking contest? Because if it’s not the mayor’s wife, he may be sleeping in the barn!"
